Ruffle Around the Edges
Here at Halloweencostumes.com we've been trying to figure out what the neck ruffle was invented for. Many people have worn it throughout history. Queen Elizabeth rocked a ruffle. Shakspeare wore one too. Then there were all those clowns who've taken over "the ruff" through the years. But why, oh why did it become a fashion accessory? It's ripe for tomato sauce mishaps and not at all headbanging friendly. We tried using a ruff to usher Raisonettes into our mouths and store extra pens but we're pretty convinced it was just invented to look super cool.
This collar is made of shiny white satin fabric. It is hemmed on the edges. It's the perfect way to top off both Elizabethan and clown costumes.
It's ruffle out there
So you've decided to get on the ruff train. Congratulations! This is a great way to make your costume stand out. Whether you're putting together a DIY costume or you're adding on to one of the awesome costumes in our catalog, this ruffle adds a spark of drama to any look. An Elizabeth with a ruffle is sure to be more haughty than one without one. A clown with a ruffle is sure to be more. . . well, clownish than a clown without one. So go ahead and order. You're sure to ruffle some feathers!
