A stroll down Memory Lane is always a pleasant thing. While history is far from perfect, Memory Lane is lined with shady trees, picket fences, and perfectly mowed lawns. Of course, the past had mosquitos and overly muggy days but none of this exists on Memory Lane. People are watering their lawns and rocking on porches, it's a sweet place of bubble gum pop music and frosty cold milkshakes with cherries on top.
Here's the thing, if you're going to fit in with the Memory Lane aesthetic, you have to dress the part. Think hard about what you want your part to be, that's what the 50s are all about. Are you that quintessential housewife? Maybe you're that rebel without a cause? Or, you just might be a sweet teeny bopper. You could be going steady with the quarterback of the football team or maybe you spend your evenings leaning into the radio, swooning to Elvis's quavering voice. The uniform of the 1950s teenager was pretty darn cute: bobby socks, a high ponytail, and sweater sets. An innocent outfit for the age of innocence.
